The
park is appreciated by thousands of Gatineau visitors who come each
year to hike, bike, camp, ski, or enjoy other outdoor activities; or to
explore the park's historic sites.
As
more people come, more needs to be done to ensure that the natural and
cultural values of Gatineau Park are understood and preserved.
The
Friends of Gatineau Park is a co-operating, non-profit organization that
works with park management to help foster this understanding and
appreciation. It does this by providing volunteer support for the park’s
interpretation program ,publishing and selling of publications, and by
fund-raising.
To
achieve its objectives Friends of Gatineau Park collaborates with local
businesses, individuals and other volunteer organizations. It is
part of a Friends network, the Canadian Parks Partnership, with more than
65 member groups, including many of the larger parks in Canada.
Become
a founding member of Friends of Gatineau Park. Membership will help
keep you informed and provide many rewarding opportunities to contribute,
through education, to the preservation of this much loved park.
